Beer by Bike 2017
Day 1
Stonehaven - Inverness. Robert begins his journey at the 6DN brewery tap where it all began. He has some company for today's 110 mile ride. Catch him Black Isle Bar and Rooms tonight with our new beers
Day 3
3 days // 300 miles into my Beer by Bike tour. Have faced some very challenging conditions out there with a LOT of head winds...but enjoying it all the same!
We're at the Salt Horse in Edinburgh tonight where there's a Foraged and Found showcase. Time for a beer!
Day 4
Beer by Bike // Day 4. It was a rather pleasant 50 mile ride today from Edinburgh - Ayton...despite a six mile climb! Thanks to my old friend Chris Mair for joining me. We're at Hemelvaart tonight. A brilliant wee place!
Day 5
500 miles in. Good ride...feeling the burn! I'm at the wonderful Free Trade Inn in Newcastle tonight with 8 of our beers on tap!
Day 6
600 miles down. Newcastle to Leeds. Good roads today, nice and flat. Sun was out and the tan is coming along nicely! Ran out of steam 25 miles from Leeds...but the promise of beer kept me going! There's six of our beers on at North Bar in Leeds tonight including Foraged and Found and two new BA releases
Day 7
700+ miles in. Leeds to Staveley. Tough day of hills and steady head winds but the beautiful Cumbrian scenery was the perfect tonic for this weary cyclist! Delighted to be at Hawkshead Brewery tonight!
Day 8
Back on the road today! Highlights included a leisurely 27 mile climb over the Tweedsmuir hills in the fog & rain! I'm at The Fat Gadgie in Carlisle tonight.
Day 9
Carlisle - Manchester. One day to go, but it feels like the end already! Just as my body has gotten used to the routine! Can't wait for tonight at one of my favourite bars, Port Street Beer House in Manchester! I might even have a beer!
Day 10
There he goes! Almost 2 wks after he left Stonehaven (clocking up well over 1000 miles) Robert finally arrives at Leeds International Beer Festival where the Beer By Bike tour draws to a close.
Well done, boss! A truly great achievement!
